Getting covered

What can I insure?

Smartphones, laptops and tablets, new or used, up to 36 months old when you register them (this limit may change). You add the device in the app with its IMEI or serial number and a few photos.

What do I need to sign up?

Your Ghana Card and your phone number. The app checks your identity once, before you insure your first device, and every account is checked the same way.

How do I pay?

With MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, a card or a bank transfer. Approve a mobile money payment only in your network's own prompt; we never ask for your PIN.

When does my cover start?

The moment your payment is confirmed. Claims open after a waiting period, 14 days today. Our staff also review each new device within 2 business days.

How much does it cost?

Each device has a fixed price, set by its value. The app shows the price, the excess and what is covered before you pay anything.

Can I buy cover on this website?

No. Everything happens in the app: sign up, insure, pay, claim and swap. The app opens for purchase at launch.

Claims

How do I make a claim?

In the app. Choose the device, say what happened and add photos. File within 30 days of the incident. The claim tracker shows each step and who is handling your claim.

Do you pay claims in cash?

No. Every claim is settled by a repair at a partner service centre or by a replacement device, never in cash.

Is a stolen phone covered?

Yes, for theft by force or threat, or from a locked home, office or vehicle with signs of forced entry. Report it to the police within 48 hours. Before a replacement is handed over, the stolen phone's IMEI is blocked and its ownership passes to the insurer.

How many claims can I make?

Up to 2 claims in 12 months and 1 in each 6-month term, with at most 1 theft claim in 12 months. These limits may change; the app shows yours.

What isn't covered?

Loss or misplacement, theft of a device left unattended, cosmetic scratches, wear and tear, accessories, software and data loss, damage after a repair somewhere we haven't approved, and anything that happens inside the waiting period. The full list is in the policy wording the app shows before you pay.

Swap and renewal

How does Swap and Upgrade work?

Trade in your device and our staff grade it on a published scale: like new, good, fair or damaged. The app shows your offer, and you pay only the difference for a newer device. An offer holds for 14 days, and the device must have been on your account for 30 days.

How does renewal work?

A card can renew automatically; it is charged 3 days before your cover ends. Mobile money can't be saved for later, so the app reminds you 14, 7 and 1 days before, and on the day.

Organisations

Can my organisation cover its people?

Yes. Employers, telcos, ministries, security services, schools and associations can run a group scheme, paid by payroll deduction with a statement each month. Tell us about your organisation on the For institutions page.
